About Us
THIS ISN'T FOR EVERYBODY.
I grew up working the trout pond at the biggest fishing show on the West Coast. Started at twelve years old, putting rods in kids' hands, helping them catch their first fish, wearing whatever gear the vendors threw at me. I hauled boxes, built booths, and the vendors who remembered took me fishing. That's how I learned it: nobody hands you anything. You show up, you work, and the water pays you back.
That show is gone now. The friendships aren't. The guys from that floor, the days offshore; that doesn't close down when the doors do.
The name came later. First overnight charter, chasing bluefin. You haul fish over the rail in the dark, gaff in, tail pounding the deck, and it doesn't stop until your arms give out. Sun came up and the deck was red from the transom to the bait tank. Somebody looked at it and said it looked like a bloodbath. That stuck.
Bloodbath Fishing is for the ones wired the same way. Up before the sun. Extra mile when everyone else went home. You know who you are and you know the best days end with blood on the deck.
